Review of La Quinta Inn & Suites – Claremore, Oklahoma

My wife, son, and I recently stayed at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Claremore for a 5-night visit. While the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the condition of the room and overall experience left much to be desired.

First, the positives: the staff were welcoming and attentive, always ready to assist with any questions or needs. The shower was also a highlight of the room—good water pressure and fully functional.

Unfortunately, the rest of the room did not meet expectations. There were several areas in need of repair, and the toilet was in such poor condition it likely needs to be replaced. The couch appeared worn out, the office-style chair in the room was cracked and worn, and the mattress was an old, uncomfortable style that left me with a kink in my neck, requiring a visit to the chiropractor once I’m back home. The pillows were also extremely firm, which added to the discomfort.

Breakfast was another letdown. Other than the waffles, the selection and quality were lacking, which was disappointing given the length of our stay.

To be honest, I’ve stayed at Motel 6 in the past for almost half the cost of La Quinta and had better quality rooms. We typically stay at Homewood Suites when visiting the Tulsa area a couple of times a year. This time, we opted to save some money by booking La Quinta, but it wasn’t worth the savings.

While the staff did their best, the condition of the room and the uncomfortable amenities made this a disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made to the rooms and facilities.

Nice LaQuinta. We first visited this property a month after it opened. We stop here about every two months on the way to visit family in Iowa. It's about an 8 hr. drive from home, and a good place to stop outside of a larger city. The staff is always pleasant, and the rooms have *always* been clean. The morning breakfast is always hot and good. However, it is beginning to show some wear. Nothing major, nothing serious, just normal wear and tear that has perhaps not been addressed by housekeeping as aggressively as it should have been. An added benefit is the Irish Pub next door.

I didn't want to do this. I stayed here a couple of weeks ago. Was hoping it would be taken care of internally, but guess not. When we arrived, the front desk clerk was very welcoming. She gave us the breakdown of the hotel and described all amenities. She then gave us our room key, and advised us that there were going to be acouple of high school softball teams coming in later, but we shouldn't worry because the room that she put my family and I in was away from theirs.

That was not the case. The girls on the team were running in and out of the rooms so much that the coach had to later come in and place tape on the outside of the doors to make sure they didn't leave their rooms anymore.

That's not the worst part. Upon entering the room, the smell was horrible. The room itself was dirty. There were splatter marks on the doors, and the mirrors looked as if they were washed with a grease rag. The amount of dust and grime was disgusting. The phones didn't work, and the thermostat couldn't be read, so I had to guess what temp it was set at.

Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep due to noise and being uncomfortable. I tried to advise the staff the next morning, but they seemed uninterested. I addressed the matter through email but received no response.

In closing, if you're looking for a place to stay in Claremore, I'd suggest somewhere else until they make major improvements.

Extremely dissapointed. Ery steong chemical smell mixed with moldy water damage. Changed rooms 3 times. 1st room filthy, 2nd room no a/c, needed dusted bad and carpets dirty.. the 3rd room I just settled for, thenkids wanted to swim and we travel with our w senior dogs. Not the quality I've come to expect from LaQunita, as this is always a go to pick for me.

Positive: Breakfast bar, Nice lobby area Negative: The elevator was not working right the evening we came in, but it was fixed after a little while the next morning. Room seemed clean, but had a different odor to it.

If I could tell you to RUN or sleep in your vehicle over this, I absolutely would. Rooms were discusting. Mold EVERYWHERE!! Headboard had syrup all down it. Our comforter had stains on it and NO stuffing. It was literally a sheet. Smelled awful even though we were in a non-smoking room. Carpet was sticky, our socks stuck to them. We were scheduled to stay there 3 nights and left night 1. Still got charged for the full night even though it was disgusting. I complained to the guy checking us out and he said "I hear it all day everyday about the mold." Sad. RUN to the Hampton Inn. AMAZING! CLEAN! GREAT SERVICE and we got a suite for the SAME price as this nasty place. We came here 5 years ago and it was good, went downhill fast.

Megan greeted us with a welcome smile. My room was great. I had the pool and gym to myself several times. Very nice staff!

I stayed here in September 2024 while I was attending the Born & Raised Music Festival in Pryor. For me - I paid to have a bed, a shower, and some breakfast. For the overall price I was charged - it should have been way better though for it being an LQ. The quality was not horrible, but there is major room for improvement at this location for the price point that I was charged for a 3 night stay and given its age.

Overall, the common areas (lobby/gym/breakfast areas) were clean, and my check in attendant (Megan, I believe) was wonderful. 3rd floor hallway carpet was nasty and needed vacuumed, my room was ok - but I was taken back by the fridge having a dirty spill in it, the tv remote had something on it - not sure what but I had to clean it, and the bathroom had dust/or possibly mold on the light fixture, and the AC register in the ceiling had dust on/in it.

I would stay here again if I had to, but knowing what I know now - ehh I’d prolly look elsewhere first unless I saw some verifiable proof that new standards and the quality has come up. Not a bad hotel, just as of this posting needs some sprucing/cleaning up in the rooms and hallway(s).
