I chose this place because its close to Stanford Hospital where my mom is having surgery done and I needed a place to stay for the night.
The overall service was great. However, there was a lady (I don't know if she is staff or guest) who was sitting down on the sofa in the lounge room gave me a weird stare down look.
The room was very nice and clean. I loved the look and feel of the place, its like your own little studio apartment away from home. Breakfast was great and tastey. It would be more amazing if there was bacon! But either way I was pleased with breakfast.
A couple of things that would complain about was that my patio light was broken and did not work, the TV was also unplugged and I plugged it in but it was still not working. I didn't want to bother guest services so I just watched movies on my phone instead. It would of been great if they had add complimentary water to the room. It is next to the train but that didn't bother me.

Have stayed here twice. Our rooms must be relatively new or immaculately maintained (or both, I suppose). Our stay was associated with surgery at Stanford so I don't have much insight into the non-room features. Nearby grocery stores (less than a mile). Pleasant staff.

We've been here many times and return due to convenience. Past experience with the underground parking is just yucky, trying to find where to go and lug bags is not okay. At a rate of over $400 (booked months in advance) on a Monday night I’m not happy that parking on the side street next to their building still nets me an a cost. We checked in the day before arrival as requested so we parked on the street on arrival thinking we were good. We were a late arrival and lucky us had to walk back out to our car in the dark without proper lighting on the street in front of the hotel or the side street to place our parking pass. That’s awesome and not convenient. The prices are really over the top such a shame.

Horrible location. Train right outside shakes the hotel. It woke me up at 3 am, 4 am, and then it is regular after 5 am. Service was poor at the front desk. Supposed to call when room was ready. They did not. Forgot to give me parking pass. Shower was one temperature which was too hot for my daughter. Stay away.

Great rooms, very modern and clean with tons of space. Free unlimited included breakfast with American variety, as well as bagels, cereal, and oatmeal Togo with plastic utensils. With that being said the location is horrendous and less than a mile away from multiple active train crossings, you can hear horns, as well as cargo echos almost all night long. The soundproofing is terrible, I can hear all of my roommates, doors and windows shut.

We stayed in a 2BR suite with 2 adults and 2 kids. The suite is very big- spacious even for a Residence Inn. Very comfortable for a family stay. The location is also convenient for Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and Stanford, although the Sheraton/Westin in Palo Alto are arguably an even better location. The room was in good shape.

The staff was not good. I tried to check in early, with platinum status, and couldn’t. Which is fine but the check-in staff could not offer an estimate for when I could check in. Furthermore, they said they would call me when our room was ready, and never did. Finally, when I did check in, I was given incorrect directions on how to get from the underground parking lot to the room, which was annoying as I had a lot of bags and an unhelpful 4 year old in tow.

The hotel is right next to the Caltrain tracks, so you definitely hear the train. But they have tried to block the noise with double windows and heavy sound blocking curtains. There are sound machines in each bedroom. I appreciate this effort.

I would stay here again if I want a suite, but it’s not exactly delightful.

This is a new Residence Inn and quite nice and spacious. Hidden a little inside, but has plenty of parking and is walkable to the downtown Menlo Park area.
The rooms are large, with a nice kitchenette, and all the appliances are nice and new. The grounds are good with a nice firepit. A good place for a long stay
